I think there might be something to the account factor. I have a GH on my Gmail account, but my phone mostly uses my Google Apps account. If I use "hey Google" only the GH replies, but "OK Google" will trigger my phone and GH. Once your devices are assigned to a room, you'll no longer have to specify which devices you're talking about when you tell Google Home to turn on the lights or lock the door. Assigning devices to rooms is really quite simple. Or you can be more specific by using preset speaker groups.
